Notes on the Contemporary has been years in the making, born from our interest in culture and desire to join the conversations that shape it.

After much thought, we've finally settled on our first format: a bi-weekly newsletter. Every issue, we'll explore a different cultural topic and showcase what different creators and creatives have to say about it. We'll get into everything from food systems and the scroll epidemic to climate activism and the metaverse's promises—and plenty more along the way.

And we're just getting started. The end goal is to create a community of people who are down to exchange ideas at different events—like festivals, book clubs or discussion groups.

Whether you're as fascinated with contemporary culture as we are, or just want some cool recommendations to share with your friends, NOC is for you.

Who are we

We are Anna, Estelle and Sanjna. Our trio's experiences span between art fairs and galleries, cultural magazines, film festivals, design and media promotion, marketing, tech, museums and journalism. Based between Switzerland and the Netherlands, we foster connections with local creative scenes while maintaining an international outlook.

Through each edition, you will get to know us better. Since we believe that what we consume culturally reflects who we are, we invite you to start exploring our world through our recent favourites.
